The Harte & Garter Hotel & Spa opened its doors in 2007 after an £8 million refurbishment of two 14th-century coaching inns, The Garter Inn and The White Harte. The new building maintains all the historic architectural features but has been redesigned in a modern, fresh English style. The hotel has been refurbished from top to bottom and all of the front facing bedrooms, have stunning views over Windsor Castle and St. George's Chapel; others have lovely views over the River Thames and Eton College and beyond. The rooms are spacious, some with four-poster beds, and many of the bathrooms have walk-in showers. There is an excellent restaurant serving modern British cuisine, a tearoom and a bar, which are all popular with the locals. A newly opened luxury spa has five treatment rooms, thermal area and experience showers - a perfect way to relax and unwind. Private tours of Windsor Castle and the local area can be arranged, and there is a 24-hour car service to and from Heathrow, which is just 15 minutes away.
