Opened in October 2003 in a
beautiful 19th-century building between the rue de Rivoli
and the Place Vendôme, this has been one of the most
talked-about hotels in Paris. Designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon
who was responsible for the George V renovation, the rooms
and bathrooms are spacious and luxuriously appointed. The
whole hotel is chic and elegant, yet cozy and warm. The restaurant,
Pinxo, is overseen by two-Michelin-star chef Alain Dutournier
of Le Carré des Feuillants, and has a particularly
light and fresh modern French menu.There is an intimate and
fashionable bar called Chinois and a comfortable library off
the atrium lobby. The hotel’s spa has a 40-foot swimming
pool, sauna, steam room, massage room and a gym. The Louvre
is a few minutes’ walk as are the Tuileries Gardens. |
